Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

This policy explains how ArabiGO handles information when you use our Arabic-learning app and website. It covers your account, learning activity, AI features and purchases.

Delete your account or request deletion by email · Your privacy rights

1. Who to contact

ArabiGO is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@arabigo.app. This policy applies to ArabiGO, including the app previously known as Arabic Movies & Books.

2. Information we handle

We receive information directly from you, from your use of the service, and from sign-in, payment and technical service providers.

3. Why we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, sync learning progress, deliver lessons and AI features, recognize purchases, send requested notifications, answer support requests, diagnose problems, understand feature usage and marketing attribution, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Where a legal basis is required, processing necessary to provide the service is based on our contract with you; security and service improvement may rely on legitimate interests, subject to your rights; legal recordkeeping relies on legal obligations. Where consent is required, it must be obtained for that processing and can be withdrawn. Reading this policy does not itself give consent to every use of personal information.

4. AI, recordings and speech

When you use an AI or speech feature, the information needed to provide it is sent to third-party AI and speech-processing providers. Depending on the feature, this includes messages and relevant conversation context for tutor responses, recordings for transcription or pronunciation assessment, and text for speech generation. Conversation context helps the tutor respond to earlier messages.

Microphone access is used for features you choose to record. Avoid including sensitive information or information about other people in prompts or recordings. AI responses can be inaccurate. Provider retention and processing depend on the service and its applicable configuration; this policy does not promise that all providers immediately delete inputs or never use them for model improvement.

5. Who receives information

Service providers receive information needed for the functions they perform:

ArabiGO uses YouTube API Services and embedded YouTube players. When you use these features, YouTube/Google may receive device, network and playback information and use cookies or similar technologies under the Google Privacy Policy.

Account identifiers may be shared with subscription, analytics and diagnostic providers to connect records to your account. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or in a business transfer subject to applicable data-protection requirements. Third-party websites, media and sign-in or payment services also have their own privacy notices.

6. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. The protections available there may differ. Where applicable law requires a safeguard for an international transfer, that requirement applies to the transfer. Contact us for information about the recipients, locations and safeguards relevant to your data.

7. Retention and security

Account and learning records are kept to provide your account and learning history. Retention depends on the type of record, whether your account is active, the purpose of processing, security needs and any legal recordkeeping requirements. Payment, security and deletion records may need to be kept after an account closes. Backup and service-provider copies can follow separate deletion cycles.

We use access controls and technical safeguards to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. We do not limit any protection or remedy that applicable law requires.

8. Delete your account

In the app, open Profile → Settings → Delete account and follow the confirmation steps. This deletes your account and associated learning records from the active service, subject to the cleanup and retention exceptions below.

You can also request deletion without installing or signing in to the app: email contact@arabigo.app with the subject “ArabiGO account deletion”, preferably from the email linked to your account. Include enough information to locate the account. Never send your password or full payment-card details. We may ask for proportionate verification before acting on your request.

The request covers your account and associated personal data, including learning records, chats and recordings. File cleanup, backups and provider records may take longer than closing the account. Limited transaction, security, legal or deletion records may be retained where necessary, including records that prevent a deleted account from being imported again. Contact us for the status of a request and details of any retained information.

Account deletion does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage cancellation separately through the store to stop future renewals; see the subscription terms. You can request data deletion whether or not you have a subscription.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights; we may verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal deadline.

You can manage microphone and notification permissions in device settings. Web analytics controls, where offered, let you change your analytics preference. Available controls differ between the website and native apps; a website preference does not automatically change native-app tracking. Contact us about other privacy choices.

10. Cookies and local storage

The app and web app use local storage and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, settings, cached content and learning progress. Analytics and attribution services may use identifiers or similar technologies. Browser and device controls can limit storage or permissions, but disabling essential storage may affect sign-in or other features.

11. Children

ArabiGO is not intended for children under 13. Additional local age or parental-permission requirements may apply. If you believe a child has supplied personal information contrary to these requirements, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our service or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. We will provide notice and obtain consent when required by applicable law. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@arabigo.app.
